A 1920 American silent sentimental drama/comedy film starring Mary Pickford, directed by Paul Powell, and based upon the Eleanor H. Porter 1913 novel. It was Pickford's first motion picture for United Artists. It became a major success and would be regarded as one of Pickford's most defining pictures. Orphan Pollyanna is sent to live with her crotchety Aunt Polly and soon discovers that many of the people in that communityare as just as ill-tempered as her aunt. But Pollyanna looks for the bright side of every situation and brings change to the old New England town.
